- BJP in UP and Bihar also annoyed for decades due to M (Muslim) and Y (Yadav) factor

The results of the Bengal Assembly elections have proved very shocking for the BJP. The 6M and 1Y factor influenced this assembly election. From the point of view of Center politics, the results of the West Bengal elections are also historic because, despite the BJP using all its strength and resources, Mamata Banerjee won a historic victory. The 6M and 1Y factor prevailed in the Bengal elections and the entire election revolved around it. The role of these factors was evident in the election results. So let us know about these factors ...

1. Modi

The BJP took full advantage of Prime Minister Modi's popularity and organized more than 1.5 dozen of his rallies. Their meetings were well attended. However, after the election results it became clear that in many places this crowd could not turn into votes. According to BJP leaders, the Modi factor did its job in the elections, but the failure to field a chief ministerial candidate against Mamata Banerjee is one of the main reasons for the party's defeat.

2. Affection

After the election, it became clear that Mamata Banerjee emerged as the most popular leader without any controversy. The manner in which he preached in a wheelchair after he was injured during the campaign in Nandigram increased the sympathy towards him among the women. Prime Minister Modi said 'Didi o Didi' and Dilip Ghosh made a statement to wear Bermuda, which is why Mamata Banerjee benefited. His 10 years of government work were left behind and the emotional issue prevailed. She successfully introduced herself as the daughter of Bengal who is being harassed by the people of Delhi. This directly benefited them. In the last 10 years under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, her poor welfare schemes like Sabuj Saathi, Ma Kitchen, Daware Sarkar in Bengal have also benefited from this election.

3. Muslim

The BJP's pro-Hindu propaganda completely pushed the Muslim electorate towards the TMC. It was during the election that Mamata Banerjee urged Muslims not to allow their votes to be divided. The grand victory of TMC in areas like Malda, Murshidabad makes it clear that Muslims voted for TMC as part of the strategy. The BJP also made things easier for Mamata. During the campaign, the BJP kept accusing Mamata Banerjee of Muslim nationalization and called her Mamata Begum. This is why in this election, Muslim voters trusted the TMC instead of the Congress, and in the 141 seats with the largest number of Muslims, the TMC won more than 50 per cent of the vote and won 119 seats. The BJP got only 35 per cent votes and 21 seats from there. While the Left Congress ISF coalition got only 11 percent of the vote.

4. Women

The TMC learned from the BJP's good performance in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and started working on its weaknesses. Special work was done on women voters. BJP leaders' attack on Mamata Banerjee has led to an estimated 60 per cent turnout of women voters in her party. The fact that the TMC was the only woman chief minister in the entire country and the way the BJP was attacking her with full force was very popular among women voters.

5. Middle class

The final phase of polling took place in Kolkata, Greater Kolkata and surrounding areas where the BJP was completely wiped out. Amidst the outbreak of the Koro epidemic across the country and discussions on the central government's failure to deal with it, urban middle class voters openly sided with the TMC instead of the BJP. While the BJP hoped that this class, crushed by the weight of TMC workers, would come with the BJP. An estimated 65-70 per cent of middle class voters voted for the TMC and increased the number of seats to cross the TMC boat.

6. Matua

In this election, both the BJP and the TMC were eyeing the votes of the Matua community. During the election, Prime Minister Modi toured Bangladesh and also visited a temple belonging to this community. The party fielded Matua community leader and MP Shantanu Thakur. The 3 million voters of this Scheduled Caste community have influence in about 70 seats. However, the BJP failed to get the full support of the community. The TMC got about 50 percent of the vote.

Y means Youth

The seventh factor is youth. This class has openly supported TMC. This was shocking as the BJP had high hopes from this class. The BJP had made unemployment a major issue but the youth, disillusioned with the polarization efforts, chose to side with the TMC instead of the BJP. Mamata Banerjee knows the pulse of Bengal as well as her love of football. Because of this, after winning the election, he talked of giving 50,000 football gifts to football clubs in rural Bengal.

The BJP did not understand the 6M and 1Y equations of the Bengal elections and kept making one mistake after another, the result of which was clear in the election result. For one thing, the BJP has been annoyed in UP and Bihar for decades because of the M (Muslim) and Y (Yadav) factor.
