Corona's transition to India forced the tournament to be halted after it reached cricketers playing in the IPL. With 50 per cent of the IPL matches yet to be played, speculation is rife over where and how these matches will be played.

On the other hand, an English newspaper has revealed that before the start of the 14th season of the IPL, cricketers were offered to be vaccinated against corona but most of the players refused to be vaccinated. After the IPL started and barely 50 per cent of the matches were played, one by one, cricketers and support staff started getting infected as soon as Corona entered the bubble for the IPL.

A number of Indian players, including Indian captain Virat Kohli, have recently been vaccinated against corona after the break in the tournament. Kohli has also appealed to people to get vaccinated. According to sources, before the IPL, cricketers thought that the biobubble would be safe from the corona, but the corona did not even count the biobubble.

According to the English newspaper, most of the cricketers were against vaccination before the tournament started. However, the lack of awareness about vaccines was also a factor. The players thought that the bio-bubble was safe and that vaccines would not be needed in this environment. The franchises also did not force their players to get vaccinated. However, after the start of the tournament, the situation changed and six players as well as two coaches contracted corona. KKR players were the most affected. Four of its players became infected with corona.
