Bad weather in marathon disaster, 21 runners die in ongoing competition

The fact that a large number of marathon runners die during the race is annoying, and it has happened in China.

According to the details received, a 100 km cross country marathon race was held in northwest China. Meanwhile, 21 runners were killed in bad weather. According to China's state news agency, people running a marathon in the Yellow River Stone Forest in Gansu Province had to face strong winds and rain with snow.

The marathon, held in a mountainous area, was attended by 172 competitors. However due to bad weather the competitors died on the way. So far, the death toll has risen to 21. Other competitors have been confirmed to be safe. However, eight runners were also injured.

On Saturday afternoon there was a sudden rain with snow and strong winds blowing on the route of the marathon. Which led to a sudden drop in temperature mercury. Thus trouble arose for the contestants. The marathon was called off after some competitors were reported missing.

A team of 1200 people with state-of-the-art equipment was deployed to find the missing competitors. The rescue operation was hampered by a drop in temperature at night. However, so far 21 contestants have been confirmed dead.
