The apex court on Friday slammed the central government during the hearing of Korona's case. The court questioned why the Center was not ensuring the production and distribution of essential medicines. In its affidavit, the central government said it has the capacity to produce an average of 13 million remediquivir per month but did not disclose demand and supply.

According to the Supreme Court, the Center has not even shown the method of allotment. The center should tell doctors to prescribe other suitable drugs to patients instead of remedivir or faviflu. According to media reports, the new form of covid in RTPCR cannot be identified and research is also needed.

The court also sought information on a plan to vaccinate people between the ages of 18 and 45. He also questioned whether the Center had any funds to keep the cost of vaccines the same. In addition, details of the funds given to Bharat Biotech and Serum Institute were sought from the Center.
