This new DRDO research could be an alternative to oxygen cylinders for corona patients.

- System SpO2 prevents a person from going into a state of hypoxia by setting a level

On the one hand, the number of coronary heart disease cases in the country is increasing rapidly and at the same time, there is a severe shortage of oxygen cylinders in most of the hospitals. In these circumstances the Organization for Defense Research and Development (DRDO) has developed a SpO2 supplemental oxygen delivery system corresponding to the corona condition.

This system is used for troops deployed in high altitude areas. It will also be very useful for corona patients. This automated system could prove to be a boon in Corona's difficult times, according to a Defense Ministry statement.

Developed by DRDO Bengaluru's Defense Bioengineering and Electromedical Laboratory, System SpO2 sets a level to prevent a person from going into a state of hypoxia which is fatal in most cases. Hypoxia is a condition in which the amount of oxygen reaching the tissue is insufficient to meet all the energy needs of the body. This is a condition that is also found in patients with covidosis due to viral infection. Due to which the crisis is getting darker in the present times.

Lack of oxygen cylinders is also believed to be one of the reasons Corona's death toll is rising.
