In Lucknow, an express train split in two and one part of it started moving forward while the other part stopped behind. The Saptakranti Superfast Express was reportedly split in two due to a coupling break. Half the train then sped off about 1 km.

The Railway Control Room was notified after being informed about this. The train was then reconnected and fortunately no major mishap occurred due to the driver's cleverness. It is learned that Saptakranti Superfast Express from Anand Vihar to Muzaffarpur reaches Lucknow at 10:45 pm and after stopping there for 10 minutes goes to Muzaffarpur in Bihar.

When the train reached Kakori station, the coupling connecting the two coaches suddenly opened so that half the train overtook and the other half stopped there. The passengers were shocked to hear about this. The driver, who had gone about 1 km after receiving instructions from the guard, informed the control room and the train was stopped and coupling was done till late at night.
