Seven militants killed in two encounters in Kashmir's Shopia-Pulwama

In Jammu and Kashmir, security forces conducted encounters in Shopia and Pulwama in which seven militants were killed. Imtiaz Ahmed, head of the Ansar Gajwatul Hind militant group, was also killed in the encounter. The Jammu and Kashmir police chief praised the jawans.
Five militants were killed in an encounter in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir. Two other militants were killed in an encounter in Novbagh in Pulwama district. The militants hid in Shopian's mosque. The security forces carried out the operation using heavy tactics to prevent any damage to the mosque. The Indian Army personnel praised the locals for not damaging the mosque during the operation.
Two militants were hiding in the mosque after security forces shot dead three militants. One of the militants' brother and a local imam were sent to the mosque by security forces and sent a message to the militants to surrender. The two went to the mosque and persuaded the terrorists to surrender. Locals also discussed whether the security forces gave the militants a chance to save their lives.
The Jammu and Kashmir police chief applauded the troopers for the operation and termed the killing of Imtiaz Ahmed a significant success. Imtiaz Ahmed was involved in several local attacks. He was the cousin of the terrorist Burhan Wani.
In another incident, a militant opened fire on an Army jawan in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, injuring him. A search operation was conducted in the area after the attack on the soldier.
