Sanctions on India would be a big mistake, US MP Biden warned the government

The United States has threatened to impose sanctions on India if it buys the system from Russia. However, Todd Young, a US lawmaker and leader of the Republican Party, warned the Biden government that it would be a big mistake to impose sanctions on India.

Young, a member of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, wrote in an article that if the US imposes sanctions on India, the US will be weak on the strategic front in the most critical period of time. Relations with India will be affected and the ability of the four-nation bloc to work with China will also be affected. This decision will really win Russia.

The United States has enacted a law that bans countries that buy military and other sensitive materials from Russia. Ever since India struck a deal with Russia for the S-400 air defense system, the US has repeatedly threatened to impose sanctions. However, India is not in the mood to cancel the deal with Russia.
