Russian air strikes in Syria, 200 terrorists killed

Russia, which has backed President Bashar al-Assad's government in Syria, has launched a major crackdown on terrorists.

An airstrike by Russian Air Force fighter jets has reportedly killed at least 200 Islamic State militants. Russian fighter jets launched a number of missiles targeting Islamic State bases in the northeastern part of Palmyra.

Meanwhile, Real Admiral Karpov, who is leading the Russian military in Syria, has also backed the attack. The terrorists were preparing explosives at the base that was attacked. Russia had received information about this. Russia used Air Force fighter jets to destroy the base.

Russia claims that in addition to 200 terrorists, two houses, 24 trucks equipped with heavy machine guns and 500 kg of explosives were destroyed in the attack. Other materials used to make explosive weapons have also been destroyed. The terrorists intended to destabilize Syria before the elections.

The town of Palmyra, near which the attack took place, is a historic city and has a lot of historical heritage. Many of these monuments were destroyed by Islamic State terrorists in 2015.
