Orissa becomes lifeline for states including UP, Delhi, sends 510 tonnes of oxygen

New Delhi, April 25, 2021

Orissa is proving to be a lifeline for a number of states, including UP, which are battling oxygen shortages amid the Corona epidemic.

In the last 46 hours, Orissa has sent 510 metric tonnes of oxygen to UP, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi and other needy states.

"Apart from this, another 15 tankers full of oxygen have been dispatched on Saturday. A corridor has been set up for the early arrival of oxygen tankers so that oxygen can reach the patients as soon as possible," Orissapolis said.

According to sources, Orissa needs 23 tonnes of oxygen per day for patients and the states are producing 129 tonnes of oxygen per day, while 60 tonnes of liquid oxygen is being produced. In these circumstances, Orissa is supplying additional supply to other states. There is no shortage of oxygen in the state and more oxygen is being produced than required.

On the other hand, the BJP organization in Orissa has alleged that oxygen supply was cut off in Berhampur, Orissa, which resulted in the death of some patients on Friday night. However, the allegations have been refuted by the system.
