Opposition leaders criticize PM Modi's nationwide message: Country needs oxygen, not rhetoric

New delhi date. 21 April 2021, Wednesday

PM Modi on Tuesday night conveyed a message to the countrymen about the crisis created by the Corona in the country.

Opposition leaders, however, are now mocking PM Modi's speech. When PM Modi urged the state governments to consider lockdown as a last resort, the opposition parties slammed the speech, saying the country needs oxygen, not your speech.

In his 19-minute speech, PM Modi also conveyed the message to the people to be vigilant and implement Corona's guideline. Omar Abdullah, leader of the National Conference, said the central government had all the control when the first wave of Corona hit a year ago. Until the lockdown was imposed by the central government and now a year later when the second wave of Corona is in control, the central government has shifted all the responsibility to the state governments.

Congress national spokesperson Surajwala tweeted, "The gist of PM Modi's speech is that I have nothing in my hands, people have to protect their own lives."

Congress leader Manish Tewari said, "PM Modi has given the message that you, friends, protect yourself." If you beat Corona we'll find out at a party. Until then best wishes to you.

Youth Congress president Srinivasa also said, "Sorry PM Modi, but the country needs oxygen, not your speech."
