High court grants relief to Lalu Yadav: Bail granted in Dumka case, way out of jail cleared


- 2 security bonds of 1-1 lakh and can be released from jail after paying a fine of 5-5 lakh under IPC and PC Act.

The way has been cleared for Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Yadav to get out of jail. The Jharkhand High Court has granted bail to Lalu Yadav in a case of withdrawing Rs 3.13 crore from the Dumka treasury. He is currently serving a sentence in a fodder scam case. He has already been granted bail in another case related to the fodder scam.

Lalu Yadav has already been granted bail in the Chaibasa and Deoghar treasury cases. The Doranda Treasury case is currently under trial. Now the way is clear for Lalu Yadav to get out of jail. Lalu Yadav was sentenced to 7 years in jail. He has completed half his sentence and has since been granted bail.

Justice Apresh Singh said Lalu Yadav has been in jail for 42 months and 11 days. This is more than half the sentence. He will be able to come out of jail after paying 2 security bonds of Rs 1 lakh and a fine of Rs 5 lakh under the IPC and PC Act.

Lalu Yadav's son Tej Pratap tweeted, "Leaders of the poor, the deprived, the backward are coming. Let the wrongdoers know our leader is coming. '
