Global warming is likely to melt a third of Antarctica's ice

The fear that global warming would melt a third of Antarctica's ice was expressed in the Geophysical Research Letter Journal. According to the report, the rapid rise in global temperatures will cause 9 percent of Antarctica's ice to melt and cause sea levels to rise.
Temperatures in the world will rise by an average of four degrees, the same as they were before the Industrial Revolution, and Antarctica's ice sheet will begin to melt. One-third of Antarctica's ice sheet will melt and flow into the ocean. According to researchers, there is a fear that about 4% of Antarctica will melt.
Larsen Sea is one of the largest surviving ice sheets in Antarctica, which is being severely affected by global warming, scientists said. If the area were to melt due to global warming, it would melt a large part of Antarctica and cause sea levels to rise.
The researchers said that if global temperatures rose by an average of 1.5 to 2 percent before the Industrial Revolution, Antarctica's ice would melt by 15 to 18 percent. The report said that the melting of ice on a large glacier causes cracks in the glacier. It grows larger in the cracks and eventually melts one day.
The report also suggested that serious steps should be taken to curb global warming.
