Funerals in Ahmednagar reduced to 45 in Maharashtra

An increasing number of patients suffering from corona

The funeral procession lasted for two days

MUMBAI: A large number of patients have lost their lives in Maharashtra due to Corona's devastation, as if the number of crematoriums is dwindling. Cemetery gates have been closed due to lack of facilities in many villages. In some villages, protests by locals have led to funerals outside the cemetery.

45 bodies were cremated in Ahmednagar. 23 bodies were cremated in Nanded. Due to the large number of coronary victims being brought for the funeral, a proper line of ambulances was formed outside the cemetery in Ahmednagar. In Ahmednagar and Nanded we had to wait for hours. The funeral procession lasted two days.

In Ahmednagar on Wednesday, 19 patients died due to corona. The figure rose to 42 on Thursday, and then three more bodies arrived at the Amardham cemetery where 45 people were cremated yesterday. Five to six bodies can be transported in an ambulance from the hospital to the cemetery. Now ambulances and hearses have also dwindled.

Meanwhile, the doors of the crematorium were closed for the funeral of the coronary victims at Sakri village in Dhule district. The funeral was refused without the permission of the Nagar Panchayat.
