Former JNU professor refuses to get vaccinated as PM Modi has photo on certificate

New Delhi, April 30, 2021

Amid the ongoing corona vaccination in the country, a senior citizen in Punjab has refused to be vaccinated against corona.

The reason behind this is also known. He says that I am not taking the vaccine as there is a photo of PM Modi on the certificate for vaccination. According to media reports, Chamanlal, a former professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, has also written a letter to Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh. He says that the certificate should have the signature of a doctor. I need to be vaccinated but I object to having a picture of PM Modi on the certificate.

He said that in any other country, the certificate issued after vaccination does not have a picture of a political leader. In India, a certificate with a picture of a sitting leader is being issued. He also requested the Punjab government to remove the certificate from the picture.

Maharashtra government's minister Nawab Malik had recently said that if there was a picture of PM Modi on the certificate, it should also include pictures of people who died due to corona.

Earlier, Mamata Banerjee had also objected to PM Modi's image on the certificate.
