New Delhi, Sunday 25 April 2021

There is an atmosphere of fear among the people in the country as corona infections are on the rise, while in states like Uttar Pradesh, people are flocking to buy oxygen cylinders, medicines and medical devices, causing a real shortage in the market for those in real need.

In some cities in Uttar Pradesh, you can't even find Dolo 650 and Limsi (vitamin C pill), the same is the case with ivermectin and zincvit (multivitamin pills). Patients want 12 mg of ivermectin, but it is nowhere to be found in the entire market.

The same thing is happening with the oximeter, usually the pulse oximeter was available at Rs 900-1000, and now it is not available, and even if it is available from anywhere, it has to be doubled. The prices of surgical masks, face shields and bottles of sanitizers have also doubled.

In addition to that ‘Calpol, the bucket in paracetamol 650, is not getting the desired drug like azithromycin used in throat infections, so are only buying the alternative drug Celin 500, while there is also a lot of shortage for Limsi. Apart from this, injections of Fabiflu pills, Remedicivir and Tosilizumab are also available after many difficulties.
