Controversy over Facebook deleting all hashtag Resign-Modi posts

As the central government failed miserably to contain the Koro epidemic, people started posting a number of posts on Facebook demanding PM Modi's resignation.
People followed the trend of hashtag Modi-Resign on Facebook. Modi resignation was becoming a trend and many people were posting Facebook posts with the hashtag, but all of a sudden all the posts were deleted by Facebook. Searching by typing the hashtag Modi-Resign in the search also stopped getting results.
The people then protested loudly. People were outraged against Facebook and accused it of managing the Facebook post at the behest of the Modi government.
Within an hour after that, Facebook had restored all the posts. Facebook used the excuse of a technical glitch in an official statement. Facebook said the government had not given any such indication. The post was deleted due to a technical glitch.
After that, the IT ministry of the central government also tweeted that the reports that the Facebook post was deleted at the behest of the government were baseless. The government did not give any such notice to Facebook.
