Blinking, Flying Kissing Type of Sexual Harassment: Court

The young man was sentenced to one year and fined

Mumbai: A 20-year-old man has been sentenced by a court to one year in prison for slapping Sagira and kissing her flying. The verdict was handed down by a special court under the Pox Act. The accused has been sentenced to one year and fined Rs 15,000.

The court ruled that blinking and flying kisses while sentencing the accused was sexual harassment. On February 29, 2020, the 14-year-old victim was walking out of the house with her sister when she was blindfolded and given a flying kiss. He had to suffer mental torture due to the act of the accused.

The victim's family lodged a complaint with the LT Marg police station after the incident. Police then arrested the accused. The accused had earlier treated the victim in the same manner. He complained to his mother many times. The young man was also persuaded by the victim's family but his behavior did not change.

The accused allegedly committed the act as he had placed a bet of Rs 500 with the victim's sister. No evidence of betting was found. The court therefore ruled in favor of the victim. The court has ordered to pay Rs 10,000 out of the fine of Rs 15,000 to the victim.
