Assam: 3 ONGC employees abducted, vehicle found in forest near Nagaland border

Three employees of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation have been abducted from Shivsagar district of Assam. Unidentified gunmen abducted ONGC employees from a paralyzed field on Wednesday morning. Two junior engineer assistants and a junior technician were taken in ONGC's vehicle. The vehicle was later found in a forest near the Assam-Nagaland border.

The news of the abduction of 3 ONGC employees sent shockwaves through the police department. Police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation for the three employees.

According to Shivsagar district official Amitabh Sinha, the militants were abducted by an armed militant group from Lakwa Field. A campaign has been launched in the suspected areas to bring back the abducted personnel safely. It is not yet clear which group abducted the employees and ONGC has lodged a complaint in this regard.
