Lockdown will no longer be applicable in 5 cities of Uttar Pradesh Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpurnagar, Prayagraj and Gorakhpur. The Supreme Court has stayed the Allahabad High Court's decision to lockdown in these five cities. At the same time, the Supreme Court has directed the High Court to hear the case as there are several cases pending.

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday knocked on the door of the Supreme Court against the Allahabad High Court's decision. "We have taken several steps to bring Corona under control, some steps are yet to be taken but lockdown is not the solution," said Solicitor General Tushar Mehta from the Uttar Pradesh government.

UP Government's argument

The UP government argues that corona cases have increased in the region and drastic measures are needed to control corona. The government has taken a number of steps and will continue to take tough decisions in the future, saving lives as well as the livelihoods of the poor. Under these circumstances, there will be no complete lockdown in the cities at present. People are spontaneously closing some space.

The Allahabad High Court had ordered a lockdown in five cities in UP amid a growing outbreak of the Koro epidemic. The High Court had ordered lockdowns in Varanasi, Kanpurnagar, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Prayagraj till April 26.

The High Court hit the government

The Allahabad High Court said in a hearing yesterday that if the public health system could not meet the challenges in any member society and people were dying due to lack of medicine, it would mean that there was no proper development.
