22 patients on ventilator die after oxygen tank leaks at Nashik hospital

On the one hand, there is a severe shortage of oxygen in the country and on the other hand, a major tragedy has taken place in Nashik, Maharashtra. An oxygen tank leaked at Zakir Hussain Hospital in Nashik on Wednesday, killing 22 patients due to lack of oxygen.

According to the local administration, the oxygen supply was cut off for about half an hour due to the leak. This resulted in the deaths of 22 patients on the ventilator. A total of 23 patients at the hospital were on ventilators at the time of the accident. Currently, the local administration has ordered an inquiry into the cause of the leak. A total of 171 patients were admitted to the hospital at the time of the tragedy. Patients admitted to the hospital after oxygen leakage were shifted to another hospital.
