Countries around the world are pushing for vaccination to protect people from the corona virus. But in the next few days, the vaccination process could be in jeopardy. The United States has banned the supply of raw materials used to make vaccines.

The ban is not permanent but may have an impact on vaccine production in the near future. This problem will be further complicated by the Novavex vaccine, as the production of this vaccine depends entirely on raw materials from the United States.

Adar Poonawala, CEO of the Serum Institute of India in Pune, which supplies 80 per cent of the world's vaccines, has questioned the US ban. Poonawala raised the issue in a discussion session organized by the World Bank, saying US law could be a major hurdle in the coming days.

Vaccine bags, filters, caps and items used in its packing are exported, he said. The largest production in the world is in the United States. Currently the whole world needs a massive vaccine. The United States has the capacity to meet such a demand, but it recently imposed a ban.

In fact the Biden administration has announced the implementation of the Defense Production Act to speed up the vaccination program in America. Since then, vaccine companies have been questioning the export of raw materials.
