Micro-blogging site Twitter has launched a survey on Friday asking people whether global leaders should have the same rules as ordinary people. According to Twitter, it respects the feelings of global leaders as well as ordinary people and it is their duty to protect them. Twitter will conduct a survey in 14 languages by April 12 to gauge public opinion and formulate a future strategy based on it.

In fact, other social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook, have come under scrutiny for monitoring the behavior of global leaders. The Twitter account of the then US President Donald Trump was shut down after the January 6 violence in Washington.

Facebook asked its independent Overseas Board whether Trump's ban should be upheld. Twitter also said it was considering what action should be taken against a global leader if he violated the rules.

According to Twitter, their goal is to create a policy that balances basic human rights and takes into account the global context.
