The US has finally acknowledged that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is improving

The US State Department has released the Biden government's first human rights report. The report assesses the human rights situation around the world.

In which the US has finally acknowledged that India is making continuous efforts to normalize the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the situation in the state is also improving. The report praises the efforts made by the Government of India for the human rights of citizens. The ban has been lifted. Detained leaders are being released. However, India has also been criticized for freedom of the press, extrajudicial killings by police, abusive treatment, police brutality, freedom of expression and religious freedom.

The report criticizes the Russian government for targeting opponents as well as Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad for persecuting his own countrymen, while China has condemned reports of atrocities against Muslims in Xinjiang province.
