Allahabad Central University Chancellor Professor Sangeeta Srivastava had written a letter to the local DM complaining that his sleep was being disturbed due to azaan in the mosque. The matter has come up against the statement of Mohammad Kaleem, a member of the mosque's management committee.

According to Mohammad Kalim, 2 out of 4 loudspeakers in the mosque have been removed and the sound of the remaining loudspeakers has also been slowed down. Also it has been turned against the Chancellor's house by turning the direction of the loudspeaker.

"Only 2 loudspeakers are allowed and only 2 loudspeakers have been installed on the mosque," Kalim said. However, if there is a problem, the loudspeaker will be slowed down. It may be mentioned that a committee has been constituted by the DM to look into the matter.

The Intejamia Committee has decided that from now on, only 50 per cent of the voice will be heard from the loudspeaker. He also expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to the Chancellor and said that he would not be allowed to get into any trouble. Not only that, Prayagraj has been told that he will be satisfied by returning and talking to him.

Professor Sangeeta Srivastava, in a letter addressed to Prayagraj's DM, wrote that Ajaan is held in the mosque every morning at around 5.30 am. The loud noise of the loudspeakers in Teva disturbs their sleep. According to the Chancellor's complaint, sleep is disturbed unknowingly and then sleep does not come again. This causes headaches throughout the day and also affects work. The letter was written on March 3.

However, the Chancellor made it clear in the letter that he was not against any denomination, class or race. At the same time, referring to a proverb, he also wrote that your freedom ends where my nose starts. Sangeeta Srivastava has requested in the letter that Ajaan can happen even without a loudspeaker so that it does not affect another person's daily routine. Now Sahari will be announced at 4 am before Eid so that their trouble may increase.

Sangeeta Srivastava wrote in the letter that the Constitution of India also envisions secularism and peaceful harmony for all classes. He also referred to the orders of the Allahabad High Court.

He also sent the letter to the Commissioner, IG and DIG in addition to the DM. According to DIG Best Tripathi, a letter was received a few days ago and the concerned officer has been directed to take legal action after investigation. Besides, DM Bhanu Chandra Goswami has also spoken of action as per rules.
