The Biden administration has yet to make a decision on the H-1B visa issue

The Biden administration has indicated that it has not yet decided whether to lift the ban imposed during Trump's time to issue new H-1B visas. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayercas has insisted that the top priority of the US government is to prioritize the needs of those who come because of harassment.

H-1B visas are in high demand mainly among Indian IT professionals. These nonimmigrant visas allow American companies to hire foreign workers with special skills or technical expertise. Technology companies attract thousands of people from India and China every year.

More than a dozen orders from the Trump administration have been overturned by new President Joe Biden. These include restrictions on Muslim visas or restrictions on green cards. But the Biden administration has not yet lifted the ban on H-1B visas. The ban will automatically expire at the end of March 31 if the Biden administration does not issue a new order, Mayercase said at a news conference at the White House.

"I'm not sure about that," he said. We have a lot of work to do to restore America's position. We will only prioritize granting visas on a humanitarian basis to those who have been harassed. At the same time, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services will proceed with the H-1B visa application process for the fiscal year ending October 1, 2021.

Last month, it announced that it had received enough applications for a 65,000 H-1B visa and would issue another 20,000 H-1B visas to those pursuing higher education at US universities. Biden, which stopped the process of applying for a green card to enter the US last year due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, has resumed Biden and will benefit many Indians working on H-1B visas.
