Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Sultan of Oman will receive the Gandhi Peace Prize

Bangladesh's 'Bangabandhu' founder Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and former Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Saeed Al Saeed Oman will be awarded the Gandhi Peace Prize. The award was posthumously given to both foreign rulers.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, popularly known as Bangabandhu, is considered to be the founder of Bangladesh. The 20th anniversary of the founding of Bangladesh is being celebrated and even before Narendra Modi is going to be the chief guest, it was announced that the founder and first president of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, will be given the Gandhi Peace Prize-2020.
Former Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Saeed, who passed away in January 2020 at the age of 9, will receive the 2017 Gandhi Peace Prize. Both foreign rulers will receive this honor posthumously.
Since 19, the Government of India has been awarding the Gandhi Peace Prize every year. This award is given to those who have made efforts to establish peace through non-violence.
