Pt. PM Modi appeals for first phase polls in Bengal-Assam today

Voting for the first phase of West Bengal and Assam Assembly elections has begun. Voting is taking place today for 30 assembly seats in five districts of Bengal and 47 seats in Assam. The Election Commission has extended the voting time this time.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged all voters in Assam and Bengal to exercise their franchise. "I urge all young friends to vote," he said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also urged the people to be fearless and participate in the polls. Amit Shah said, "I urge the first phase voters of West Bengal to cast their votes as fearlessly as possible to restore the pride of Bengal." One of your votes will make the Bengal of the imagination of great men like Subhash Chandra Bose, Gurudev Tagore and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee come true.

The first phase of Assembly elections is being held in West Bengal and Assam today. And long queues have been seen at polling stations since morning. Elections are being held in eight phases in West Bengal.
