My 12-15 MPs have been sold, I am ready to sit in opposition: Imran

Islamabad, Ta. 4
Pakistan's Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh was defeated in the Islamabad Senate elections. It was then claimed that Imran Khan's government was in the minority. In the midst of that claim, Imran Khan, in his national address, admitted that his 14-15 MPs had been sold out and that he was ready to sit in opposition.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan, while addressing the nation, said that 12-15 MPs of my party have been sold. Accusing opposition leader Yusuf Raza Gilani, Imran said Gilani had given Rs 2 crore to MPs. Imran said Gilani had bought MPs by pouring money like water in the elections.
Imran Khan added that if my government was in the minority, I would choose to sit in opposition. I will not buy MPs by giving money. Imran Khan has been challenged to prove a majority in Parliament. Next week it will prove a vote of confidence in Parliament. If the necessary support is not forthcoming, Imran Khan's government will collapse.
Elections were held for the Senate seat in Islamabad. According to the Election Commission, 40 votes were cast. Out of these, 13 votes went to Yusuf Raza Gilani. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh got 15 votes. Seven votes were declared invalid. It took 13 votes to win the election. Pakistan's ruling party, Tehreek-e-Pakistan, claimed that it had the support of 15 members. On the issue of cross-voting, Imran Khan criticized the Election Commission.
Opposition parties have stated they will not run in the by-elections, but Imran Khan's government is in the minority. Then Imran Khan's chair is in danger. It has created a situation for Imran Khan to sit in opposition from power.
