Like East India, Narendra Modi wants to rule 'West India' by Gujaratis only: Mallikarjun Khadge

- The constitution has guaranteed jobs through reservations, the BJP government wants to end it

New delhi date. March 19, 2021, Friday

In the Rajya Sabha, Congress leader Mallikarjun Khadge said that just as the East India Company ruled the country for 150 years by investing in it, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to rule the whole country through 'West India' i.e. Gujaratis only. He alleged that the government wanted to hand over control to foreign companies under the pretext of increasing FDI in insurance. Which seeks to remove the reserves found in jobs.

Referring to a statement made by the Finance Minister in the House, he said there are only six state-owned insurance companies in the country with 1.75 lakh employees. While a total of 50 insurance companies are operating in the private sector. Within which 2.67 lakh employees work. Khadge said the constitution has guaranteed jobs to 60-70 per cent of the people in the country through reservations, while now the BJP government wants to end it.

Khadge said that in the year 1956, Pandit Nehru nationalized insurance companies and Indiraji nationalized banks so that people's lives could be improved and they could get jobs. He said that the Insurance Research Bill 2021 has many shortcomings. So that it is sent to the Standing Committee. He said that if FDI in insurance companies was increased, Modiji would start a West India Company with the help of some people from Gujarat. That is why foreigners have been given control within this bill.
