Jammu and Kashmir: District administration orders to hoist tricolors on all government buildings in Anantnag

District Magistrate of Anantnag District of South Kashmir Dr. Piyush Singla has issued a circular to hoist the national flag on all government buildings.

According to the statement, the Deputy Commissioner of Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla has issued a circular to hoist the national flag on all government buildings and offices in the district.

The circular directed all district, regional, tehsil and block level officials to abide by the instructions and ensure that the national flag is hoisted on all government buildings within 15 days. The district presidents have also been directed to submit a progress report on the matter on a daily basis.

It may be mentioned that after the repeal of Article 370, only the Indian tricolor is now flown in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, a separate red flag was adopted under Article 144 of the Constitution of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. On July 7, 1952, the Constituent Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir passed an ordinance recognizing the flag of July 11, 1939 as the official flag of the state.
