The recent peasant agitation against India's new agricultural law was debated in the British Parliament. As a result, India has also decided to retaliate against Britain.

Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar told the Rajya Sabha that the issue of discrimination against Indian students in Britain would be raised on appropriate platforms when needed.

Rashmi Samant, an Indian student, was recently elected president of the Oxford University Students' Union but was forced to resign within days of the countdown. India is watching and if need be, this issue will be raised.

"We are the people of Gandhiji's country and we cannot remain silent on racial discrimination, even in a country where a large number of Indians live. We have good relations with Britain but action will be taken if any issues come up," he said.

BJP MP Ashwini Vaishwane told the Rajya Sabha that Rashmi Sawant was elected president of the Oxford University Student Union but was targeted for some old social media posts and had to resign.
