Hindu journalist shot dead in Pakistan

Hindu journalist Ajay Lalwani has been shot dead in Pakistan's Sindh province. While Ajay was cutting Lalwani's hair, the attackers in two bikes and a vehicle fired indiscriminately, killing him.

Ajay Lalwani was a reporter for a local news channel and the Urdu-language newspaper Daily Puchano. He was shot when he arrived at a shop in Sukkur to cut his hair on Thursday. The injured Lalwani was admitted to the hospital but succumbed to gunshot wounds to the abdomen, sides and knees.

Ajay's father denied the news that he was killed due to personal enmity. In this regard, the police have registered a complaint against 3 unidentified criminals and started investigation into the case and a heavy police force has been deployed in the area.

A group of journalists protested against Lalwani's murder and a march was held after the funeral of his body. Notably, Hindus are the largest minority community in Pakistan. According to a report, there are 7.5 million Hindus in Pakistan and most of the Hindu population is in Sindh province.
