At a time when there is no consensus between farmers and the government in the country, Meghalaya Governor Satyapal Malik has once again made an important statement on agricultural law. After a private function at Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan, Satyapal Malik said it was not in anyone's interest for the farmers' movement to last so long.

Satyapal Malik said, "Even if a bitch dies, the mourning messages of our leaders come for her but 250 farmers died. No one said anything." My soul hurts. This is not an issue that cannot be resolved. The matter can only be resolved. '

The main issue of MSP

According to Malik, MSP is the main issue. This issue will be easily resolved if MSP is legalized. This issue has now become the concern of farmers across the country. So in these circumstances it should be resolved soon. In response to a question, Malik replied that he could not act as a mediator as he was in a constitutional position. According to him, he can only give advice to farmer leaders and government representatives, that is his role.

Reminded of the Viceroy's incident

Speaking during the farmers' agitation, Malik said that the issue of farmers not getting a fair price was not an issue today. Recalling the incident of Chhoturam and the Viceroy who had been ministers during the British rule, Malik said that the Viceroy had met Chhoturam during World War II and demanded food. At that time Chhoturam had made it a condition that he would decide the price of the grain himself so the viceroy himself replied that he would send the army and snatch the grain. However, Chhoturam himself, without fear, told the farmers to set fire to the standing crop but not to give wheat at a lower price.
