Deaf and dumb Gita, who arrived in India from Pakistan in 2014, has finally found her family after a five-year wait. Gita has met her mother who lives in Parbhani, Maharashtra. A 40-year-old woman has given evidence regarding Gita. Gita was going to Pakistan by mistake at the age of 8-10.

The girl was sheltered by Abdul Satar Idhi's organization, known as Gandhi on the border. Years later, the late Sushma Swaraj repatriated Gita in 2012 during her tenure as External Affairs Minister.
Later, Gita's parents tried to find her. Nearly a dozen families from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan claimed to have a blood relationship with Gita, but there was not enough evidence. It was decided to carry out the identification process with Gita's DNA test.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old woman from Maharashtra claimed that Geeta was her daughter. The woman also gave evidence of burns on Gita's body. Gita was reunited with her mother. Her father died a few years ago. The real name of the deaf-mute Gita is Radha. He met his mother Mina Waghmare. Her mother said Radha went missing while she was living in Jintur in Parbhani district.
Gita, 6, is currently learning sign language at an institute in Parbhani, Maharashtra. He will be kept in the institution till the medical examination is done. Geeta used to live in an NGO in Indore. The government at that time had handed over the responsibility of Gita to an NGO in Madhya Pradesh. Now a DNA test will be done soon and then Gita will be handed over to her family.
