New delhi date. 27. Saturday, March, 2021

Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri has made it clear that Air India will be 100 per cent privatized as the government has no other option.

"Air India is a first class asset and the company has a debt of Rs 60,000 crore. We have to come out of this situation," he said. The government is fully committed to selling Air India and there is no question of confusion.

Ajay Singh, the promoter of Tata Group and SpiceJet, has been shortlisted as one of the bidders for Air India. Air India will be in the name of whichever is more willing to give more economic value. The buyer will have to pay in 15% of the enterprise value of Air India in cash.
