A fire at a Mumbai hospital has killed two people. The Dream Mall at Bhandup caught fire. Sunrise Hospital was located on the third floor of the mall where more than 70 patients were undergoing treatment and most of the patients were infected with corona.

Fire department vehicles that reached the scene after the accident shifted the patients to another hospital and started operations to evacuate the 6 people trapped inside. The fire broke out late at night at 11:30 a.m. and more than 20 fire department vehicles arrived at the scene and began trying to contain the situation.

The death toll could still go up even though 90 to 95 percent of patients trapped in the fire have been rescued. The Mumbai mayor himself was surprised to see the hospital inside the mall for the first time and directed an inquiry to find out the cause of the fire. The hospital admitted 76 patients out of which 73 were infected with corona.
