Today marks the second anniversary of the terrorist attack at Pulwama and the country is remembering the sacrifices of CRPF personnel. Two years after the Pulwama attack, the country still remembers the day a suicide bomber struck a bus carrying security personnel with an IED-laden vehicle. The attack killed 40 CRPF personnel. The Jaish-e-Mohammed militant group in Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack.

The CRPF convoy was attacked on February 14, 2019 in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. Adil Ahmed Dar, a 22-year-old suicide bomber, rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into a bus carrying soldiers. The CRPF convoy had 78 buses and about 2,500 troops were on their way from Jammu to Srinagar.

A few days after the terrorist attack at Pulwama, India carried out an air strike on the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist training camp at Balakot, Pakistan. The international community strongly supported India in the wake of the terrorist attack and India withdrew the Most Favored Nation (MFN) status granted to Pakistan.

Then on February 14, 2020, a memorial named after all the 40 soldiers killed in the terrorist attack at the CRPF training center at Lethpora camp in Pulwama was inaugurated. The monument is inscribed with the names, photographs and motto of all 40 soldiers killed in the Pulwama attack - "Service and Loyalty".
