Indian students will study in their mother tongue from the next academic session. Under the new education policy 2020, from the academic session 2021, schools will be able to study in their mother tongue up to the fifth standard and up to the eighth standard if the state so desires.

Apart from that, selected IIT and NIT students are getting the opportunity to study B. Tech program in their mother tongue. What is special is that now a plan is being prepared to conduct medical studies in the mother tongue. According to Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, under the guidelines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, medical and engineering studies will be conducted in the mother tongue. Its purpose is to promote the students studying in government schools in the hinterland as well as to introduce the language through it.

Based on the analysis of scientists, UNESCO also agreed that early education should be done in the mother tongue. And it is on this basis that provision has been made in the new education policy. Children's talents can only be honed through the mother tongue. 22 languages ​​including Bengali, Kannada, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Rajasthani have their own distinct identity which shows unity in diversity. If the state government wishes, it can conduct the entire curriculum from school to higher education in its mother tongue.

Provision of defense and translation in Budget 2021

Special provision for conservation and translation has been made in the Union Budget 2021 to save Indian languages ​​from extinction. For this, centers will be set up in many cities of the country. It will research regional and endangered languages ​​other than 22 Indian languages ​​and identify them.

An India-Best India scheme connecting students from one state with the language, culture, food and drink of another state will also be implemented in universities, IITs and IIMs from 2021. The marks of his competition will be linked to the student's degree through credit. It will directly benefit the campus placement or job. In fact, multinational companies are now prioritizing young people who can easily adapt to a multicultural environment.

Development of roadmap for study in mother tongue by AICTE

A roadmap for study in mother tongue is being prepared in all engineering colleges of the country. Special grants will also be given to publish engineering and management study books in various Indian languages. In this regard, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is preparing a syllabus of National Competitive Examinations for JEE Mains and NEETs by holding a meeting with the State Education Boards of the States.
