Thousands take to the streets demanding release of Russian opposition leader Navalny: 4,000 arrested

Thousands took to the streets across Russia to demand the release of jailed Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, depriving the Kremlin of sleep.

The government arrested more than 4,000 protesters. The government and top officials have been working hard to prevent Russia from engaging in unprecedented human settlements and demonstrations across Russia last week.

Alexei Navalny, 44, one of President Putin's biggest critics and the protagonist of the anti-corruption probe, was arrested on June 17 after returning from Germany.

It took Alexander Navalny five months to recover from a suspected Kremlin poisoning and illness in Germany. However, Russian authorities have denied the allegations. Russian police arrested more than a thousand people today from 11 time zones across Russia.

In Moscow, the government set up a unique security system in the heart of the city, shutting down all subway stations near the Kremlin. Huss shut down the service and forced the restaurant as well as the store to close.
