There are no plans to implement a nationwide law for love jihad, the central government replied in the Rajya Sabha

Responding to a question in the current Rajya Sabha session, the Center said the government has no plans to implement a nationwide law for love jihad.

The Center had said this in response to a question from five Kerala MPs. Possessed.

The law has been enacted by the BJP-ruled states of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh to curb the love jihad, while states like Haryana, Assam and Karnataka have also announced to enforce the law.

However, no such law has been enacted by any party other than the BJP where the government is in power. A number of arrests have also been made in UP and MPs after the implementation of the Love Jihad Act.
