Locals also shared pictures on social media of the massive wreckage of the plane that crashed in a residential area of Denver. The relief, however, was that no one was killed in the incident.

The United States Airlines tweeted about the incident, saying the pilot was informed that the engine had failed after takeoff of flight UA 328 from Denver to Honolulu on Saturday. The plane made a safe landing in Denver soon after.

A total of 241 people were on board the plane, including 231 passengers and 10 crew members, media reports said. No casualties were reported in the incident. In the video shot from inside the plane, it can be seen that the engine on the right side of the Boeing 777-220 had caught fire and was swaying. The plane reached such a desolate ground that the entire top cover of the plane's engine was burnt.

"We thought our death was certain," David Delucia, a passenger on the plane, told the Denver Post. We were constantly coming down after one wing of the plane exploded. I held my wife's hand in the meantime. We sat under our breath as the pilot made a safe landing and we exited.
