"I am one of the lucky ones who has never been to Pakistan": Ghulam Nabi Azad


- Expressed desire of Kashmiri Pandits to repopulate Asia

Tears welled up in the eyes of Congress MP Ghulam Nabi Azad after Prime Minister Narendra Modi became emotional in the Rajya Sabha. Recalling the incident mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ghulam Nabi himself cried out loud at the time. Ghulam Nabi worked for the eradication of terrorism from the country and the resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits in Asia.

Some Gujaratis were also involved in the terrorist attack on tourists in Kashmir and some of them were killed. The Prime Minister was moved by the recollection of the incident and Ghulam Nabi also expressed his feelings by recalling it in his farewell speech. He said that when they reached the airport after the accident, the children of the victim's family grabbed them and started crying. Seeing that scene, a scream came out of his mouth and he prayed to God to end terrorism from this country.

Referring to Kashmiri Pandits, Ghulam Nabi Azad urged Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to work for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits and also shared a corresponding share. He also described himself as one of the lucky ones who never went to Pakistan. He further said that whenever he reads or hears about Pakistan, he feels proud to be an Indian Muslim. He said that the social evils that exist in Pakistan are not present in India. At the same time, he worked to prevent such social evils among Indian Muslims.
