Delhi Police has registered an FIR against climate change activist Greta Thunberg's recent allegedly provocative tweet about India's peasant movement in protest of the new agricultural law. Greta Thunberg posted on her Twitter account, in which pop singer Rihanna showed solidarity with the peasant movement immediately after drawing attention to farmers' protests in India.
An FIR has been registered against Thunberg Greta, a resident of Sweden, under sections 153A and 120B of the IPC. Delhi Police have taken note of many of his tweets against Greta, which have been deemed provocative.
Many foreign celebrities from around the world, including pop singer Rihanna, Greta Thunberg and Kamala Harris' niece, have commented on this.
"We stand united with #FarmersProtest in India," Greta Thunberg wrote in her first tweet on Tuesday night. Following her tweet, Rihanna said the issue should be discussed.
However, the External Affairs Ministry issued a statement on Wednesday. The foreign ministry said it was unfortunate that some organizations and individuals were making such statements to impose their agenda. It is important to check the facts and circumstances before making any comments.
