- Commercial vehicles will not get the benefit of this facility

There is a lot of relief news for those who drive four wheelers and those who use Fastag. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided not to have a minimum balance in Fastag. However, this facility is for cars, jeeps or vans only and will not benefit commercial vehicles.

Research in rules by NHAI

According to a report from the National Highways Authority of India, from now on, Fastag facilitators will not be required to have any minimum balance other than a bank security deposit. Earlier, various banks were asked to keep a minimum balance in addition to the security deposit in Fastag. Some banks were required to maintain a minimum balance of Rs 150 or Rs 200.

Due to the minimum balance rule, many people using Fastag were not allowed to pass through the toll plaza despite having sufficient balance in the Fastag account. This also caused unnecessary commotion at the toll plaza.

If the balance is not negative then the car can pass

According to a recent decision taken by NHAI, customers will now be allowed to pass through toll plazas unless they have a negative balance in their Fastag wallet. The car will be allowed to cross the toll plaza even if there is less money in the Fastag account. The car will be allowed to cross the toll plaza even if the fastag account is likely to be negative after crossing the toll plaza. If the driver or customer does not recharge it, the bank can recover the amount of negative balance from the security deposit.
