The Ebola virus, one of the most devastating epidemics the world has seen in 2013 and 2014, has reappeared on the African continent. The African country of Guinea has reported eight cases of Ebola so far, three of which have been fatal.

One of the three deaths also involved a nurse. Eight people involved in the nurse's funeral have been diagnosed with Ebola and are undergoing treatment and testing.

The first case of Ebola was reported in Guinea in 2013 and deaths were reported here until 2016. Again three deaths have been reported here due to Ebola, one of which is a nurse.

Ebola symptoms have also been reported in five people attending the nurse's funeral. He has been admitted to the hospital due to diarrhea-vomiting and increased bleeding. Guinea's health minister, Remy Lamah, says a second phase of testing for people exposed to Ebola is underway.

If the need arises, the World Health Organization and other organizations will be contacted for help with facilities, including vaccinations. Guinea's neighbors, including Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Liberia, have also issued alerts and implemented various plans.
