Data Theft: Facebook Paid for Privacy Violations .. Compensation

Facebook will pay Rs 4,783 crore for stealing people's biometric data and storing it on its own server to identify people's faces. The company introduced the feature of photo tagging based on this data through facial recognition (face recognition technology).

As of December, 15,71,608 users had sued him for violating privacy, and during a mass hearing, an agreement was reached on compensation, which was upheld by a federal court judge in San Francisco, USA.

Facebook pleaded guilty to violations of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, according to Judge Donato, the three men expressed outrage at the agreement, but agreed to a large number of endorsements.

This is the largest compensation for a privacy violation, with each user claiming the biggest win for Facebook users receiving મળશે 345, or Rs 25,390.

The lawsuit against Facebook began in 2015, gradually progressing, and by 2020, Facebook had agreed to pay 4 4.047 billion. But the amount was increased after the judge intervened.
