Congress and Left forces shut down Bengal: Activists try to stop rail service, tires burn in three places

A 12-hour shutdown has been declared in Bengal today by leftist forces and Congress workers after an alleged beating of their own workers in Kolkata's Nabana. Meanwhile, activists from both the parties are blocking roads in some cities in West Bengal. So there has been a confrontation with the police at Kachlik place.

CPI (M) members in North 24 Parganas of Bengal blocked Ghosh Para Road in Shyamnagar. Apart from this, the road has also been blocked in Ashoknagar. So in Kancharpada, the activists of the Left forces have closed the railway track. Apart from this, tires have also been burnt at three places.

An important statement has been made by the state government amid the announcement of the closure. The Trinamool government has said that all state government offices will be open during the shutdown announced by the Left forces in the state. All employees will also be on duty. Emergency leave or any other type of leave will not be granted.

The Congress and the Left have formed an alliance to form a triangular battle with the TMC and the BJP for the West Bengal Assembly elections.
