The ice in relations between India and China over the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is slowly melting. Amid falling tensions, China has admitted for the first time that its troops were killed in a clash at Galvan. China has released details of four of its soldiers killed in a bloody clash in June last year. Twenty Indian soldiers were killed in the clashes.

China's Central Military Commission recalled the sacrifices of five soldiers stationed on Mount Karakoram. Four Chinese soldiers from the PLA Xinjiang Military Command were killed in a clash at Galwan while one soldier died from drowning in the river at the time of the rescue.

However China is releasing a very low number of PLA soldiers killed in the Galvan Valley. A few days ago, Chief of Northern Command Lieutenant General YK Joshi said 50 Chinese troops had been evacuated after the clash at Galwan. A number of Chinese soldiers were killed in the clashes, but it is difficult to say whether more than 50 soldiers in vehicles were injured or killed. "The Russian agency TASS also said that 45 Chinese were killed and our guess is around," said YK Joshi.
