Biden on Trump's path: US attack in Syria, blows up 17 terrorists

The U.S. military said in a statement that Biden was "the first person to do so." Following in Trump's footsteps, Biden also ordered military action against Iran-backed militants. In Syria, the US carried out air strikes on Iran-backed terrorists.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the airstrikes were carried out in eastern Syria on Iranian-backed militants following a directive from President Joe Biden. The U.S. airstrikes on Iranian-backed militia forces have turned the tide of terror.

The United States has not commented on the number of militants, but the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has claimed responsibility for a series of airstrikes in eastern Syria that killed 17 militants. The U.S. retaliated by launching a rocket attack on a U.S.-led military base in Iraq.

Earlier in the month, Iran launched a rocket attack on the US and allied forces in Iraq, but the US military suffered no casualties. A contractor was killed and a foreign national was killed in the attack. Joe Biden then ordered the U.S. military to retaliate.

The conflict with Iran was expected to end if Biden became president, but Biden has also shown a sharp stance against Iran in the wake of Trump. US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said Biden had made it clear by allowing the military operation that the United States was committed to protecting allies and would not compromise.
